Raja Ampat has currents all year; you will learn to handle different environmental changes as part of your Open Water Course. We will train the skills in the natural pool on Mansuar Island. When conditions are right, we are able to do confined water also on our house reef.

How long does it take to become a certified scuba diver?
The duration of scuba diving certification courses can vary, depending on the student's learning phase.
Soul Scuba Divers Marine Open Water course includes classroom sessions, confined water training, and four open water dives and academic sessions for the Marine Ecology Speciality course.
However, the pace of learning can be adjusted based on individual needs and preferences. Advanced courses and specialty certifications, like those offered by Soul Scuba Divers, can add to your diving skills and may take a few days to complete each.
Is scuba diving safe?

Can anyone scuba dive, or are there age restrictions?
While scuba diving is accessible to a wide range of individuals, there are age restrictions for certain courses. For the SSI Open Water Diver course, participants must be at least 10 years old. Junior Open Water Diver certification is available for those aged 10 to 14, with certain depth limitations. However, people of various ages, from teenagers to seniors, can enjoy scuba diving by choosing appropriate courses and dive sites suited to their skills and comfort levels.
How deep can you dive while scuba diving?
SSI Open water course allows you to dive until 18 meters.
SSI Advanced Adventurer allows you to dive until 30 meters.
SSI Deep dive speciality allows you to dive until 40 meters.
What equipment do I need for scuba diving?
Basic scuba diving equipment includes a mask, snorkel, fins, exposure suit (wetsuit or drysuit), buoyancy control device (BCD), regulator, tank and weights.
When diving with Soul Scuba Divers, most of the necessary equipment is provided.
Dive computer rent is 100,000 IDR per day.
As you progress in diving, you might consider investing in personal items such as a mask and snorkel for a comfortable fit.

Marine Open Water Course
Duration: Between 3 days Pre-requisites: Swimming skills and study the course materials Language: English Cost: 7.500.000 IDR Includes: Confined water dives and four open water dives (up to 18 meters) + course materials (Open water and Marine ecology specialty) + equipment You will start your course with Theory and presentations in our dive center.
Make sure you have read the theory materials before coming here. You will go through the skills that you will do in the shallow water with one of our instructors. After you have done the skills (confined water), you will do 4 dives for the course in the following days.
